UMMID Foundation (Universal Mission for Mankind & India Development Foundation) is a national level Non-Profit Organization
(NGO) working in the field of Education, Healthcare, protections of rivers, environment & ecology,
strengthening local self-governance, empowerment of women and livelihood for the welfare of the deprived.
UMMID Foundation is
registered under Trust Registration Act 1882. Ummid Foundation was conceptualized
by two young professional from Mumbai: Aditya
Vats & Shumaila Jameel with vision to Work as a catalyst in bringing sustainable change in the lives of underprivileged children, youth and women, with a
life-cycle approach of development.
This Foundation is run by a
group of energetic youth under the Guidance of a well know Social Activist who
participated in Bihar movement in 1974-77 , was actively associated with
Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Vahini in 1977-78. Worked for Bihar Educational Project
(BEP) in order to create awareness about Education in Bihar and was closely
associated & Coordinated various social projects undertaken by a National
level NGO based in Goa.
Most of the areas where we are working have acute
poverty, lack of basic facilities, rampant unemployment where probably the only
silver lining is the host of beautiful mountains!
